Kuala pilah: The roof of a laboratory at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Juasseh here suddenly collapsed at noon today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kuala Pilah Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Operations Commander, Senior Fire Officer Mohd Idham Mohd Rodzi, stated that no casualties were reported in the incident. Firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call and discovered that part of the roof of the three-storey school building had collapsed.

Further inspection revealed that no individuals were involved in the incident as the room was empty at the time. Several chemicals in the laboratory were removed and relocated to a safer place due to concerns that they could potentially cause a fire.

Mohd Idham mentioned that the area had been cordoned off and would remain off-limits until it was deemed completely safe. The case was subsequently referred to the Public Works Department (JKR) for further assessment.
