Saudi Arabia Ready To Host Islamic Solidarity Games 2025

Kuala lumpur: With just two months to go, Saudi Arabia is set to welcome athletes, officials and fans from across the Islamic world for the Islamic Solidarity Games 2025 from Nov 7 to 21. Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee, Prince Fahad Jalawi, said they were honoured to host 57 contingents that will compete in 23 sporting events at world-class venues across Riyadh.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, this edition of the Games will feature events like handball, swimming, athletics, taekwondo, and volleyball. Notably, camel racing and e-sports will make their debut in this sixth edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games. The Games aim to foster unity among Islamic nations and provide a platform for athletes to compete, connect, and inspire future generations.

Since its inception in 2005, Turkiye has been the dominant force in the Islamic Solidarity Games, leading the medal tally with 237 gold medals. Iran follows with 118 golds, while Azerbaijan has secured 114. Malaysia has also made a significant impact, placing among the top 10 nations with 33 gold medals.
