Sarawak Invites Community to State-Level Chinese New Year Celebration

Kuching: The Sarawak State-Level Chinese New Year (CNY) Celebration 2026 is set to take place on February 17, embodying the spirit of inclusivity and harmony that underpins the state's strength and stability, as expressed by Deputy Premier of Sarawak Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian. This annual event aims to foster unity, mutual respect, and understanding among Sarawak's diverse communities.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Sim welcomed the public to partake in the celebration, which will be hosted at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) from 10 am to 2 pm. The event promises an opportunity for attendees to interact and strengthen community ties while partaking in the festive hospitality prepared for the occasion. The open celebration is a reflection of the values of sharing, togetherness, and mutual appreciation that are integral to Sarawak's social fabric.

Dr Sim, who is overseeing this year's state-level CNY celebration, also stated that Sarawak Governor Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar is expected to grace the event, further highlighting its significance in promoting communal harmony and cultural appreciation.
