Sarawak Flood Evacuees Drop Further

Sarawak: The number of flood evacuees housed at temporary relief centres in Sarawak has dropped to 507 people from 158 families as of 4 pm today, compared with 611 people from 194 families reported this morning.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) stated that four temporary relief centres remained in operation in the Sibu and Bintulu divisions. The relief centre at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Bukit Assek in Sibu is accommodating six evacuees from one family. In Bintulu, the Dewan Suarah relief centre is housing 251 people from 73 families.

The number of evacuees at Balai Raya Sebauh and SMK Sebauh relief centres has also declined. Currently, 143 people from 51 families and 107 people from 33 families are housed there, compared with 150 people from 54 families and 177 people from 54 families recorded this morning.
