Kuala lumpur: Saliran Group Bhd has appointed its chief financial officer (CFO) Yong Wai Kin as executive director of the company effective today. The supplier and distributor of pipes company stated that the appointment reflects the board’s confidence in Yong’s leadership and expertise as Saliran continues to advance its growth trajectory post-initial public offering (IPO) exercise.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Yong has served as CFO of Saliran since May 2022, bringing over three decades of experience in finance, audit, and corporate management across industries such as manufacturing, automotive, media, and palm oil. Since joining Saliran, he has played a pivotal role in leading the company’s financial management and was instrumental in steering the successful listing of Saliran on the ACE Market of Bursa Malaysia in 2025.

Prior to his tenure at Saliran, Yong held senior leadership positions including executive director and CFO of Mann Seng Metal International Ltd, where he facilitated its IPO on the Singapore Exchange in May 2010. Yong also previously served as CFO of Econframe Bhd, overseeing the group’s financial and corporate affairs and playing a key role in its public listing in October 2020.

Yong is a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), and holds a higher diploma in accounting from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).
