Lianyungang: Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail will lead a ministry delegation to the 2026 Global Public Security Cooperation Forum Lianyungang (GPSCFL) in Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, China, from today until Friday (Sept 11). The Home Minister's Office stated that the Malaysian delegation is attending the forum at the invitation of China.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Saifuddin is scheduled to meet Chinese Minister of Public Security Wang Xiaohong to discuss cooperation in public security, border control, policing, and immigration. He is also scheduled to participate in the inaugural conference of the International Alliance for Combating Telecom and Cyber Fraud, which focuses on strengthening international cooperation in combating cross-border telecommunications and cyber fraud syndicates.
GPSCFL is an international platform that brings together leaders, policymakers, enforcement agencies, and security experts from various countries to exchange views, experiences, and best practices in addressing global security challenges. This year's forum carries the theme 'Unite to Advance Public Security Governance, Bring Stability to a Turbulent World', with a focus on public security, cross-border crime, and security threats increasingly shaped by technological developments.
Malaysia's participation in the forum reflects the MADANI Government's commitment to ensuring that the country's security and enforcement capabilities continue to be strengthened through strategic cooperation, information sharing, and the exchange of best practices with international partners. In an increasingly interconnected security landscape, threats such as cross-border crime, online fraud, and cybercrime can no longer be addressed by any country acting alone.
According to the statement, the visit will also be utilized to strengthen Malaysia-China security ties and expand international cooperation networks that can enhance the capabilities of the country's enforcement agencies in safeguarding the security, public order, and well-being of Malaysians.
