Bangsar park: The "Be Smart, Avoid Scam: Scam Awareness For Everyone" (SAFE) programme continues its mission to raise public awareness about the threats of digital fraud, as emphasized by Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil. In a Facebook post today, Fahmi highlighted the programme's objective to educate the public on modern digital scam tactics, methods to safeguard themselves online, and practices for safer financial management.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fahmi urged citizens to act promptly by calling 997 if they fall victim to fraud, noting that scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated and anyone could be targeted if not vigilant. His remarks came after attending the SAFE programme, which was jointly organised by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Subzone 2 Lembah Pantai Residents' Representative Council at the Gujarati Association Hall in Bangsar Park.
The event attracted approximately 120 participants, including senior citizens and local residents from Bangsar. Fahmi expressed his hope that more Malaysians will participate in the programme, to better protect themselves and their families from digital scams.
