Sadhana Demolition and Engineering Provides Turnkey Solutions Amid Economic Uncertainties

Kuala lumpur: Sadhana Demolition and Engineering Sdn Bhd emerges as a strategic partner for companies planning investments, launching manufacturing plants, or exiting operations within Malaysia. Specializing in demolishing concrete buildings, factories, and warehouses, Sadhana also oversees asset disposal.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sadhana goes beyond demolition by salvaging and trading valuable used materials such as metal structures, machinery, electrical fittings, cables, and concrete foundation steel rebars. This practice aids clients in recovering substantial financial returns from assets that might otherwise be discarded. The company utilizes the value of salvaged materials to offset demolition costs, often paying clients if the salvage value exceeds the cost while executing the necessary tasks.

Managing Director William Koh emphasized the company’s comprehensive approach to plant decommissioning, offering a complete solution that includes liaison with authorities, machinery and building disposal, wastewater treatment plant shutdown, proper scheduled waste handling, environmental closure plan preparation, and overall site clearance. For new developments, Sadhana covers all aspects of site preparation, including permits, hoarding, substructure removal, and concrete recycling, helping clients maximize return value while ensuring compliance and efficient execution.

Koh highlighted Sadhana’s adherence to safety, regulatory compliance, and value creation, strictly following the Construction Industry Development Board’s (CIDB) B26 demolition code of practice, ensuring projects are executed safely and meet Malaysian standards. The company collaborates closely with relevant authorities to ensure that all demolition and clearance processes comply with local regulations, are managed efficiently, and are completed on schedule.

Sadhana also integrates environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals, utilizing sustainable practices such as on-site concrete crushing to repurpose debris as construction base materials. This practice stabilizes construction sites, particularly in flood-prone areas, by improving ground conditions, offering a dual benefit of recycling materials and enhancing site stability.

Since its establishment in 2010, Sadhana has completed over 150 projects across Malaysia, supported by an extensive fleet of machinery and a robust business network. Notably, the company demolished a Canadian facility in Kuantan, paying over RM7 million for demolition and salvage works and successfully returning the land to Kuantan Port. Koh underscored the importance of engaging qualified contractors to avoid potential safety issues, illegal dumping, delays, and contract disputes.

Last year, Sadhana achieved a turnover of approximately RM60 million from 15 projects. Koh noted that the company operates on a project basis, with revenue varying according to project number and size. He observed opportunities arising from shifts in Malaysia’s manufacturing sector, with several companies exiting the market, such as Panasonic and tyre manufacturers like Silverstone, Goodyear, and Continental Tyre.

As of May 2025, Sadhana has secured six to seven projects, aiming to match last year’s performance. Koh commented on global economic uncertainties and geopolitical tensions, noting that the trade war between the United States and China has prompted Chinese manufacturers to consider Malaysia for supply chain setups, presenting new business opportunities for Sadhana in site clearance and demolition.

Koh also remarked on Malaysia’s local manufacturing challenges, with older factories struggling against China’s large-scale, modern facilities. Many plants risk closure due to outdated processes and machinery, making Sadhana’s services essential for asset disposal and site clearance. Whether for new investments, restructuring, or business shutdowns, Sadhana Demolition and Engineering is positioned to deliver comprehensive solutions in demolition, salvage, and asset recovery.
