Kuching: SACOFA Sdn Bhd has entered into a strategic collaboration with ZTE (Malaysia) Corporation Sdn Bhd to accelerate Sarawak’s digital transformation through the development of a sustainable and intelligent digital ecosystem. The partnership focuses on advancing artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud technologies, strengthening network infrastructure, and promoting Industry 4.0 adoption across key sectors.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, SACOFA managing director Datuk Seri Sulaiman Abdul Rahman Abdul Taib stated that the collaboration marks an important step in modernising Sarawak’s network infrastructure to deliver high-speed connectivity and support a digital-ready future. He emphasized that SACOFA’s state-wide network will enable autonomous industrial initiatives and drive long-term digital growth across the state.
ZTE Malaysia managing director Steven Ge highlighted that the partnership demonstrates the company’s commitment to delivering intelligent, energy-efficient network solutions that align with Sarawak’s sustainable digital development goals. Through the collaboration, both companies will deploy AI-powered automation and cloud-based technologies to enhance the agility, scalability, and efficiency of Sarawak’s information and communication technology (ICT) ecosystem.
The initiative is also expected to provide ultra-high-speed bandwidth and ultra-low latency connectivity, meeting the increasing digital demands of businesses and communities statewide. In addition, SACOFA and ZTE Malaysia will collaborate on secure and energy-efficient network solutions that support Sarawak’s carbon reduction and sustainability objectives.
The cooperation will also drive digital transformation in key sectors such as government, healthcare, education, energy, and smart cities, promoting innovation and strengthening Sarawak’s competitiveness in the digital economy.
