Kuala lumpur: Sabah FC will not be distracted by Johor Darul Ta'zim's (JDT) injury and suspension issues ahead of the FA Cup final at Bukit Jalil National Stadium tomorrow. Head coach Jean-Paul de Marigny said his focus remains firmly on his own squad as the Rhinos chase a historic breakthrough to end their 30-year wait since their last FA Cup triumph in 1995.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, de Marigny emphasized his approach of concentrating solely on his team and the factors within his control. His main objective is to ensure that the players execute the game plan with the right mentality and courage, as stated during the pre-match press conference.
The coach also mentioned that the Rhinos are looking to embrace the occasion rather than get caught up in the pressure. He expressed that being in the FA Cup Final is a privilege and that the team needs to enjoy the occasion, having earned their place in the final.
Meanwhile, Sabah's skipper, Dominic Tan, shared that although the squad is enjoying the moment, they remain determined to finish the job successfully. He highlighted the long journey to reach the final after 27 years and conveyed the team's professional drive to perform their best in the final match.
