Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah government will implement the Sentuhan Kasih Rakyat 2025 programme starting next month, providing RM300 monthly assistance to hardcore poor, and poor household heads and their family members aged 18 and above. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the state cabinet has endorsed the programme which will be rolled out in phases to benefit an initial 100,000 people.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Hajiji noted that the initiative, coordinated by the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) Secretariat, aims to help reduce the financial burden on the poor and hardcore poor, especially during major celebrations in the state. This announcement came after Hajiji chaired the Chief Minister’s Department’s post-cabinet meeting at Menara Kinabalu.
In addition to the financial aid program, Hajiji instructed department heads to closely monitor the implementation of development projects to prevent them from becoming stalled or abandoned. He emphasized the importance of integrity among state government officers and urged them to ensure that projects intended for the public are completed according to schedule.
