Kota kinabalu: Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) has issued a stern warning that party members who choose to run as independent candidates in the upcoming 17th Sabah state election will face immediate expulsion.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the party’s secretary-general, Datuk Mohammad Razali Razi, emphasized that participating in the election as an independent contradicts the party’s policies and its role as a component of Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS). He stated, “PGRS stresses that any individual who decides to contest as an independent candidate has no connection with the party or any of its leaders, even if they are a PGRS member. Accordingly, the party has decided to immediately expel any member who violates this directive.”
Mohammad Razali further called upon all party supporters and machinery to maintain unity and dedicate their efforts to the state election. He underscored the importance of securing victories for GRS candidates to ensure the future and interests of the people of Sabah.
Today marks the nomination day for the state election, with polling scheduled for November 29 and early voting set to take place on November 25.
