Sabah Polls: Nomination Process Smooth, No Police Reports

Kota kinabalu: The nomination process for the 17th Sabah State Election today proceeded smoothly with no police reports received throughout the period, said Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun. He expressed gratitude and congratulations to all candidates and their supporters for demonstrating strong commitment to ensuring that the nomination process took place without any incidents.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Commissioner Jauteh urged all parties to maintain this level of professionalism throughout the election period. He emphasized the importance of cooperation to ensure the election proceeds without incidents and without any police reports until the polling process concludes on November 29. His remarks were made during a press conference on the Nomination Day proceedings at the Sabah Contingent Police Headquarters.

The Election Commission has scheduled polling day for the Sabah state election on November 29, with early voting slated for November 25. Jauteh highlighted that enforcement operations began as early as 5 am, with 4,771 police officers and personnel deployed at all 25 nomination centres across the state.

In addition to securing the nomination centres, the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) also stationed officers at various public locations to ensure smooth traffic flow. Jauteh expressed appreciation for the high level of professionalism demonstrated by all security personnel, particularly the policemen, in maintaining order and satisfying all involved parties.

Furthermore, Jauteh reminded campaign organisers to obtain permits from the police for events, especially those held in densely populated public areas, to ensure compliance with regulations.
