Kota kinabalu: Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Mohamad Alamin lost in the Bongawan seat in the 17th Sabah State Election. The Kimanis Member of Parliament, who is contesting the state seat again after losing in 2018, was defeated by incumbent Dr Daud Yusof of Parti Warisan (Warisan).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Daud defended the seat with a majority of 938 votes in the nine-cornered fight, which included former Foreign Minister Tan Sri Anifah Aman, who is also the Parti Cinta Sabah (PCS) president. The Bongawan state constituency has 24,019 registered voters.
