Sabah Polls: BN Responsible For Spurring Development In Bongawan, Membakut

Membakut: Barisan Nasional (BN) has done an outstanding job of fulfilling its responsibilities in the Bongawan and Membakut state constituencies by implementing numerous development projects in both areas. Deputy Foreign Minister Datuk Mohamad Alamin, who is also BN’s candidate for the Bongawan seat in the 17th Sabah State Election, said the party has consistently produced the goods, especially in resolving the people’s issues in terms of road facilities and dilapidated schools.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamad highlighted his achievements within the Kimanis parliamentary constituency, particularly focusing on road infrastructure development. He mentioned that RM126 million has been approved for Jalan Bukit Mangis, a project expected to significantly impact rural areas such as Ulu Kimanis, Ulu Bongawan, and Ulu Membakut. Mohamad expressed pride in addressing long-standing local issues, having resolved eight problems related to dilapidated schools within Bongawan and Membakut despite his relatively short tenure as Kimanis Member of Parliament.

Further developments include initiatives aimed at the youth, with upgrades to local sports centres and courts. Mohamad also emphasized a commitment to education, offering one-off funding to university-bound students across all economic categories to alleviate their financial burdens.

In the upcoming Sabah polls, Mohamad faces a nine-cornered contest, including former Foreign Minister Tan Sri Anifah Aman, representing Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS). Anifah remains optimistic about securing support from the Bongawan electorate, leveraging the backing he has received thus far. He has also pledged GRS’s dedication to creating employment opportunities for young people to support their families.
