Kota kinabalu: The Sabah Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) will dispose of about a tonne of various types of drugs worth RM120.43 million, involving 5,732 investigation papers this year. Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun stated that the drugs to be disposed of included 370,223.042 grammes of syabu, 2,970.17 grammes of ganja, 24,104.15 grammes of cocaine, 3,518.04 grammes of ketamine, 609,669.2 grammes of mitragynine, 14.95 grammes of Eramin 5, and 0.2 grammes of heroin.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, all case items will be disposed of in accordance with the stipulated procedures and guidelines. Jauteh revealed this information at a press conference held at the Sabah Contingent Police Headquarters. The disposal process will follow instructions from the Deputy Public Prosecutor, with the items sent to Kualiti Alam Sdn Bhd disposal site in Bukit Pelandok, Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan. Packing and transporting the seized items began today, with shipping scheduled from Sepanggar Port to Port Klang, Selangor. The official disposal is planned for September 14.

Jauteh highlighted that the disposal of the seized items is part of the NCID's ongoing effort to combat drug trafficking activities within the state. Meanwhile, police have arrested 41 individuals under Ops Bayu 1 to Ops Bayu 14, operations continuously implemented throughout this year. Of those arrested, 20 were charged under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and one individual under Section 15(1)(a) of the same Act. Three individuals were detained under the Special Prevention Measures (LLPK), two were released to serve as prosecution witnesses, 13 were released unconditionally, while two others remain in remand to assist in investigations.

Jauteh also noted the NCID's collaboration with the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) at the Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA), which led to the successful detection of 50 cases in Sabah and parts of Sarawak from July 2025 to the present.
