Sabah PKR Urges Public Not To Fall For Slander Politics

Kota kinabalu: Sabah PKR has urged the public not to be influenced by slanderous politics, incitement or attempts to manipulate issues to confuse the people as the political atmosphere heats up ahead of the 17th Sabah State Election this Saturday.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Sabah PKR chairman Datuk Mustapha Sakmud emphasized that the future of the state should not be determined by political games but through facts, honesty, and policies that bring benefits to the people of the Land Below the Wind. He expressed Sabah PKR’s commitment to continuing the reform agenda, amplifying the voice of the people, and ensuring clean, stable, and accountable governance in the state.

Mustapha also voiced full support for the statement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on accepting the resignation of the Prime Minister’s Senior Political Secretary, Datuk Seri Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin. He highlighted the importance of allowing the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to conduct investigations independently without interference from any party.

The decision by Shamsul Iskandar to resign was described by Mustapha as a responsible move, aligned with the principles of the MADANI government, which prioritizes integrity, transparency, and good governance. He noted that this action demonstrates that no one in the government is immune from the legal process and that all allegations must be investigated fairly and professionally.

Mustapha further stated that the MACC must be given full space to complete its investigations according to procedure without political pressure. He emphasized that this is the foundation of institutional reform that has long been championed.
