Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah State Health Department (JKNS) is actively seeking a resolution to the ongoing parking issues at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital (HQEII), where the parking area frequently experiences flooding and pothole damage, posing challenges for users.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, JKNS Director Dr Maria Suleiman explained that the parking space in question is actually owned by Qhazanah Sabah Berhad but has been generously made available for public use. The area, which accommodates approximately 300 vehicles, is regularly utilized by hospital staff, visitors, and patients due to the limited hospital parking facilities.
Dr Maria stated that recent unpredictable weather conditions have exacerbated the situation, leading to stagnant water and potholes that impact user comfort. Discussions with local leaders and stakeholders have been initiated to develop effective improvement strategies.
Dr Maria emphasized the importance of expanding and repairing the parking area to enhance accessibility for patients, visitors, and hospital staff. She encouraged collaboration from local leaders and relevant authorities to devise the best solution for the well-being of patients and hospital users.
