Kota kinabalu: The Sabah government will continue to intensify security levels in the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (ESS Zone) through the use of advanced technology, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to ensure the state's stability and economic growth. Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor stated that the initiative also involves the modernization of existing assets and the utilization of drone and radar technology for more effective surveillance of air and maritime spaces.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the integration of Big Data analysis will be expanded to enable security agencies to conduct comprehensive monitoring and provide faster responses to any form of threat. Hajiji Noor emphasized that this initiative aligns with the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) 2.0 Roadmap, which focuses on strengthening security systems, not only from a physical perspective but also encompassing aspects of digital defense.
The Chief Minister highlighted that guaranteed security is a primary prerequisite for building investor confidence, which will directly have a positive impact on the well-being of the people and local economic activities. Meanwhile, he mentioned that development within the ESS Zone will be implemented holistically, aiming to balance defense requirements with social and economic empowerment to ensure the area continues to flourish and grow.
