KOTA BELUD: The Sabah state government has earmarked RM124.7 million for the advancement of its industrial and entrepreneurial sectors for the upcoming year, as announced by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor. This financial commitment is part of the state’s strategic initiative to bolster socio-economic growth through the Sabah Maju Jaya Roadmap, which emphasizes the empowerment of entrepreneurs and cooperatives.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Hajiji encouraged local entrepreneurs and cooperatives to leverage the opportunities provided by the government to enhance their competitiveness and resilience. The state government remains committed to supporting the entrepreneurial sector through a range of initiatives and development programs. These efforts are aimed at achieving significant progress in areas such as tourism and agriculture, particularly in regions like Kadamaian.
Hajiji made these remarks during the Santuni MADANI programme, organized by the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), which was held with the Kota Belud community in celebration of the Kadamaian 2024 Christmas Open House. The event also saw the presence of Datuk Ewon Benedick, Minister of Entrepreneur and Cooperatives Development, who is the Kadamaian state assemblyman.
The Chief Minister further expressed the state’s readiness to collaborate with KUSKOP in launching high-impact programs that cater to current entrepreneurial and community needs. He acknowledged KUSKOP’s ongoing efforts to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME), as well as cooperatives, street vendors, and small traders in enhancing the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Hajiji expressed hope that KUSKOP’s support for MSME entrepreneurs would extend beyond Kadamaian to benefit the entire state, contributing to the broader goal of economic empowerment and sustainable development.
