Saarani received the resignation letter on August 10, with Mohamad Hamidi citing health factors as the reason for his departure and the need for time to seek medical treatment. According to BERNAMA News Agency, Saarani addressed reporters about rumors circulating on social media that linked his political secretary to a drug abuse issue. He made these remarks after officiating the Invest in Perak Day 2026 program. Saarani emphasized that he refuses to make any assumptions regarding the matter. Recently, rumors on social media claimed that the political secretary was involved in drug addiction, which Saarani has not substantiated.
