Rubber Market Extends Gains On Supply Concerns

Kuala lumpur: The rubber market extended its uptrend on Wednesday, tracking gains in regional rubber futures markets supported by declining Indonesian supply, which reinforced concerns over supply tightness. A dealer noted that firmer crude oil prices also supported sentiment.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Indonesia's natural rubber exports decreased by 21 per cent year-on-year to 765,000 tonnes in the first seven months of 2026. Tighter supply in Indonesia is also expected due to ongoing haze and forest fires.

At 3 pm, the price of SMR 20 increased by 14 sen to 1,021.50 sen per kilogramme (kg), while latex in bulk added five sen to 710.5 sen per kg.
