Kuala lumpur: The Royal Museum, closed since January, is expected to reopen on Feb 1, 2027, said National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang. He stated that preservation and conservation work on the museum is complete, with interior decoration and display upgrades currently in progress and scheduled to finish on Jan 28.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the minister emphasized the ministry's commitment to preserving the museum as a national heritage and educational platform for future generations. This was conveyed in a Facebook post today.

The Royal Museum comprises the Royal Gallery and the former official and private quarters of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Raja Permaisuri Agong. It also includes the Throne Room, which has historically hosted significant national ceremonies such as royal installations, conferment of honours, and official royal functions.

The museum was closed on Jan 1 for conservation, preservation, and building maintenance work.
