RM8 Million CBT Trial of FashionValet Founders to Commence in 2026

Kuala Lumpur: The Sessions Court has scheduled a 15-day trial starting April 13, 2026, for FashionValet Sdn Bhd founders Datin Vivy Sofinas Yusof and her husband Datuk Fadzarudin Shah Anuar. The couple faces charges of criminal breach of trust (CBT) concerning RM8 million in investment funds from Khazanah Nasional Berhad and Permodalan Nasional Berhad.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Judge Rosli Ahmad announced the trial dates as April 13 to 17, May 18 to 22, and June 8 to 12, 2026. The next case mention is set for October 27. During the session, Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin requested the court fix the trial dates agreed upon by both parties, with Lawyer M. Athimulan representing the couple.

The prosecution plans to call 26 witnesses to testify. The accused, who are both 37 years old, were not present in court as their attendance was exempted. On December 5 of the previous year, Vivy and Fadzarudin pleaded not guilty to the CBT charge, which alleges that they misappropriated RM8 million in investment funds by transferring it from FashionValet Sdn Bhd’s account to 30 Maple Sdn Bhd without board approval.

The incident reportedly occurred at Public Bank Berhad, Bukit Damansara Branch, on August 21, 2018. The charge under Section 409 of the Penal Code, read with Section 34, carries a penalty ranging from two to 20 years in prison, whipping, and a fine. They also denied an alternative charge of dishonestly misusing company property under Section 403 of the Penal Code, read with Section 34, which could result in six months to five years in prison, caning, and a fine.
