Kuala lumpur: The Defence Ministry has allocated RM7.2 million to implement the 'ProWira Ready To Work Graduate' programme, providing 300 graduates, including children of Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) personnel, with job training opportunities at selected companies. Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin announced that the programme, conducted through the Armed Forces Fund Board Foundation (Yayasan LTAT), is part of efforts to enhance the welfare agenda for military personnel and their families by facilitating education and employment opportunities.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the programme specifically targets graduates who are children of serving MAF personnel, MAF veterans, and Defence Ministry staff. During the 12-month placement period at the 23 participating companies, participants will receive a monthly allowance of RM2,000, funded by the government through Yayasan LTAT. "We hope their placement in these companies will provide meaningful exposure and help them succeed in the working world," said Mohamed Khaled at the launch of the ProWira programme and Yayasan LTAT Education Initiative 2026.
The event was attended by Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari, Defence Ministry secretary-general Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali, and Yayasan LTAT chief executive Datuk Dr Nizar Sudin. Additionally, the Professional Accountancy Collaboration programme was launched in collaboration with Yayasan Peneraju, offering children of MAF personnel the chance to pursue professional studies through a strategic financing structure. Mohamed Khaled highlighted that 90 per cent of the funding will be covered by Yayasan Peneraju, with the remaining 10 per cent funded by Yayasan LTAT.
Furthermore, Mohamed Khaled presented contribution cheques worth RM222,814.40 to six principals of schools located in military camps through the Sentuhan Elit SPM 2025 Programme, as well as a RM376,488 contribution cheque from Yayasan LTAT to Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) for the implementation of the e-Perkasa Programme 2026. He also witnessed the exchange of a memorandum of understanding for the Professional Accounting Certification Programme (ACCA) between Yayasan Peneraju and Yayasan LTAT.
