RM15,000 Top Prize Drives Nationwide Bridge-Building Challenge

Kuala lumpur: A school-level engineering challenge that began more than a decade ago is set to take centre stage nationwide, with a RM15,000 top prize drawing participants to the Vital Factor Consulting Cup 2026, featuring the MACSian74 Bridge Over Troubled Waters competition. Originally introduced in 2009 by alumni of Malacca Anglo-Chinese School (ACS), the competition has grown from a local initiative into a national platform for innovation. The 2026 edition marks its first nationwide expansion and will be jointly organised by ACS and Malacca Methodist Girls' Secondary School (MGSS).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the competition aims to inspire young engineers and foster creativity in problem-solving, encouraging students from various schools across the country to participate. The event is expected to attract significant attention due to the substantial prize and the opportunity for participants to showcase their engineering prowess on a national stage.

The organisers hope that this expansion will not only elevate the standards of the competition but also inspire a new generation of innovative thinkers. The joint effort by ACS and MGSS signifies a collaborative approach to education and community engagement, setting a precedent for future events of this nature. The bridge-building challenge is anticipated to be a landmark event in the academic calendar, contributing to the broader educational landscape in the nation.
