Kuala lumpur: Rising demand for skilled workers generated 343,836 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) job opportunities on the MYFutureJobs platform from January to June 30 this year. Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan stated that this development indicates a growing recognition of technical and vocational skills in the job market, aligning with industry needs amid technological transformation and digitalisation of the economy.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, TVET-related job opportunities advertised via MYFutureJobs offer an average monthly salary of RM3,658, highlighting the industry's demand for skilled workers. Certain fields offer higher salaries depending on experience, job location, and the competency certifications held by graduates. Ramanan emphasized that upskilling and professional certification can lead to more competitive earnings.

Ramanan noted that the career prospects for TVET graduates are improving, driven by the rising demand for skilled workers in sectors such as engineering, maintenance, electrical and electronics, information and communications technology, construction, automotive, semiconductors, and machine operations. The diversity in these sectors demonstrates that TVET graduates have broad career prospects in high-impact industries that contribute to the country's economic growth.

He also mentioned that this development reflects the industry's confidence in the capabilities of local skilled workers to meet the evolving demands of the job market. To ensure more TVET students gain access to quality career opportunities, the ministry will continue to expand MYFutureJobs services through career programmes at training institutions, polytechnics, universities, and campuses of the Manpower Department.

MYFutureJobs, managed by the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO), assists students in identifying jobs matching their skills, qualifications, interests, and location.
