Kuala Lumpur: Malaysian pilgrims are advised to use the remaining three days before wukuf in Arafah this Thursday to revise the essential knowledge on the pillars and obligatory acts of haj to ensure their pilgrimage is valid, complete and accepted by Allah. Perlis deputy mufti and Haj advisory chief, Tajul Urus Abdul Halim, emphasized the importance of reviewing the notes and materials provided by Tabung Haji (TH). He remarked, ‘Pilgrims must go over everything they have learned to ensure every ritual performed is in accordance with the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The Prophet said, ‘Take from me your haj rites,’ meaning the haj should not be performed based on personal interpretations or preference, but must follow the Sunnah entirely.’
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tajul Urus stressed the importance of maintaining good health and making thorough physical and spiritual preparations ahead of the Day of Arafah, which marks the culmination of the haj rituals. He advised pilgrims to prioritize their health and avoid activities that may compromise their physical endurance, including excessive voluntary umrah or aggressive movement, especially in the lead-up to this pivotal part of the pilgrimage.
Tajul Urus further advised pilgrims to be well-prepared in terms of personal needs and logistics, including arranging medication, ihram garments, and daily essentials to ease movement between Arafah, Muzdalifah, Mina, and the Jamrah stoning sites. He highlighted the significance of renewing intentions sincerely for the sake of Allah SWT before leaving their accommodations for Arafah, stating that sincerity is the foundation of all acts of worship.
He also encouraged pilgrims to fully utilize their time in Arafah by engaging in supplication, zikir, and istighfar as acts of true submission to Allah. The masyair operations mark the culmination of the haj pilgrimage, involving the movement of Malaysian pilgrims between Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina over five days, from 8 to 13 Zulhijjah, to fulfill the pillar and obligatory acts of haj.
The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has announced that the Day of Arafah will fall on Thursday, 9 Zulhijjah (June 5), followed by Aidiladha celebrations on Friday, June 6.
