Retail Shop Worker Injured During Robbery Involving Machete in Kampung Kuala Lesung

Baling: A retail shop worker in Kampung Kuala Lesung, Kuala Ketil near here was injured in a robbery involving four men, one wielding a machete, on Monday. Baling district police chief Supt Brandon Anak Richard Joe stated that the police received a report about the incident involving the man, who is in his 20s, at 9.02 pm on June 1.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, investigations revealed that at 8.45 pm on Monday, the man was approached by four male suspects traveling in a white Perodua Bezza. The suspects were dressed in helmets, masks, jackets, and gloves, with one carrying a machete.

The suspect armed with the machete attacked the victim, causing minor injuries to his back. The victim suffered losses in cash due to the robbery and was taken to Hospital Baling for treatment. The case is being investigated under Sections 395/397 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt while committing robbery.

Supt Brandon further mentioned that police are actively tracking down the suspects. He urged members of the public with any information to contact the nearest police station to assist in the investigation.
