Kuala lumpur: Political parties involved in the Negeri Sembilan state election have been urged to respect the monarchy and steer clear of issues related to race, religion, and royalty (3R) during their campaigns, as emphasized by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid highlighted the importance of adhering to the reminder from the Negeri Sembilan Palace, which called on all parties to avoid 3R issues. He affirmed that Barisan Nasional (BN) has consistently refrained from using 3R topics as campaign material. "We hold firmly that the institution of the Malay Rulers must be defended," Ahmad Zahid stated, underlining the significance of safeguarding the institution of the Undang Yang Empat in Negeri Sembilan.

He further advised political parties against raising 3R issues, citing the palace's guidance as a valuable reminder. These remarks were made during a press conference after the Negeri Sembilan Entrepreneurs Gathering Programme, attended by Deputy Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Rubiah Wang and MARA chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.

Addressing additional concerns, Ahmad Zahid dismissed allegations of a rift between BN and Perikatan Nasional (PN) that supposedly hindered cooperation between the coalitions. He assured that there has been no conflict or disagreement, emphasizing that their relationship is grounded in mutual understanding.
