Resorts World Genting, Trip.com Join Forces To Boost Inbound Tourism

Kuala lumpur: Resorts World Genting (RWG) has signed two memoranda of understanding (MoU) with Trip.com Group to strengthen strategic collaboration aimed at boosting Malaysia’s inbound tourism. The agreements were signed with two of Trip.com Group’s core business pillars in Malaysia, leveraging the global travel service provider’s broad international reach.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the collaboration marks a key milestone in connectivity, marketing innovation, and targeted engagement, with a focus on delivering seamless and personalised travel experiences for international tourists. RWG executive vice-president of sales, marketing, and public relations, Spencer Lee, said a key highlight of the partnership is the first-ever direct application programming interface (API) integration between RWG’s hotel and theme park booking systems and Trip.com Group.

Lee explained that the real-time API connectivity allows international guests to access RWG’s products based on real-time pricing and availability, which will improve decision-making processes. He added that this integration enables real-time inventory updates, instant confirmations, and rate parity across both platforms, providing a hassle-free booking experience for users. Customers of Trip.com Group will benefit from exclusive offers and enhanced convenience when planning visits to RWG.

The partnership also supports the growing travel demand in the region, particularly in Malaysia, and aligns with the government’s efforts for Visit Malaysia Year 2026. The memoranda pave the way for joint marketing campaigns, especially in the Asian market, including flash sales and member-exclusive deals powered by Trip.com Group’s data insights and marketing tools.

Trip.com Group’s managing director and vice-president of international markets, Boon Sian Chai, noted that the collaboration enhances the company’s product offerings with one of Malaysia’s most recognised hospitality brands. He mentioned that Malaysia is a key growth market for Trip.com, and this partnership reflects the commitment to supporting the country’s tourism industry.

Boon highlighted that Trip.com Group is a pioneer in live streaming of travel products, a feature that will now be used to showcase RWG’s offerings to a live streaming audience. He mentioned that they will also work closely with Tourism Malaysia to attract global customers to Malaysia.
