Repair Works Set to Commence on Jalan Lojing-Gua Musang Slope in March

Gua musang: Work to repair the slope along route FT185, Section 107.6, Jalan Lojing-Gua Musang is expected to begin in March, as announced by Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi. The project will initially involve constructing a temporary road diversion to reopen the route for motorists.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Slope Engineering Branch of the Public Works Department (JKR) has been appointed as the project director, tasked with planning, managing, and supervising the slope's maintenance work. This initiative is part of the MADANI government's commitment to enhancing road infrastructure quality for the safety and comfort of road users.

The route was completely closed to all vehicles following a landslide on December 3 of the previous year. During a site survey of the Lingkaran Tengah Utama (LTU) project packages 3B and 3C, Nanta was accompanied by Kelantan JKR director Nik Badlihisham Nik Ismail.

In related developments, Nanta revealed that the government has allocated RM96 million to upgrade the East-West Highway (JRTB) in Kelantan. Additionally, he noted that RM350 million has been allocated to enhance the JRTB section in Perak under the First Rolling Plan (RP1) of the 13th Malaysia Plan (MP13), aiming to improve the route's safety, comfort, and resilience. Preliminary work for this project is expected to commence this year, with hopes of physical implementation starting next year.
