Beaufort: The remains of three police officers, who are believed to have died from electrocution outside the Weston Police Station yesterday afternoon, were released from the Forensic Department of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at 2:55 pm today. They will be returned to their respective hometowns.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the post-mortem process commenced at 8:30 am and concluded by 12:00 pm, followed by necessary documentation to facilitate the transportation of the remains. Corporal Chiu Teck Siong's remains are set to be flown to Sarawak from the Royal Malaysia Police Air Operations Force Airfield.

The remains of the other two officers, Corporal Mohamad Nur Hafiz Ibrahim and Constable Muhammad Raimi Ismarubee, will be taken to the Sabah Contingent Police Headquarters Mosque for funeral prayers after Maghrib. Subsequently, they will be flown to Kelantan and Terengganu via a Royal Malaysian Air Force aircraft from Kota Kinabalu International Airport.

Beaufort District Police Chief Supt Champin Piuh expressed gratitude to Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun and others for their assistance. He also thanked local leaders and the Sabah Contingent Junior Police Officers Association for their support throughout the process.

Supt Champin noted that contributions from Sabah PDRM personnel were given to the officers' families as a gesture of solidarity and appreciation. The officers were believed to have been electrocuted while using an iron pole to harvest coconuts near the police station at 5:50 pm yesterday.
