Kuala lumpur: The public, especially youth, are urged to be more proactive in disseminating information related to skill training and job opportunities so that more people can benefit from the initiatives provided by the government and various parties.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan emphasized that many young people, including students and graduates, still do not take the opportunity to promote training programmes or skill development initiatives offered. He cited the example of Yayasan Mahir providing various Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programmes.
Ramanan addressed reporters after attending the Food Basket Donation and Bubur Lambuk Distribution Programme, organized in collaboration with the Department of Skills Development (JPK). KESUMA deputy secretary-general Sutekno Ahmad Belon and Yayasan Mahir Malaysia chairman Datuk Seri Ganes Palaniapan were also present at the event.
He highlighted the importance of attendees at such programmes helping to spread information to the local community, thereby increasing awareness of available training opportunities. For instance, he mentioned a free artificial intelligence (AI) training programme in Sungai Buloh, involving around 700 participants, organized in collaboration with TalentCorp, noting that similar modules abroad can be quite costly.
Earlier, Ramanan distributed 100 food baskets and bubur lambuk to residents, particularly targeting the B40 group and families facing financial constraints. The programme concluded with a visit to a Ramadan bazaar, where 1,000 bowls of bubur lambuk and duit raya were distributed to children in the area.
