Ramanan Urges Focus on Safety and Emergency Services in Sungai Buloh Infrastructure Planning

Sungai Buloh: Sungai Buloh Member of Parliament Datuk Seri R. Ramanan has urged local authorities and developers to prioritise safety and emergency response services when planning infrastructure in the constituency. He stressed the importance of ensuring that both new and existing developments comply with proper safety and accessibility regulations, adding that he would engage with all relevant stakeholders, including local authorities and developers, to address these concerns.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ramanan, who is also the Deputy Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister, highlighted these issues during the ‘Seminar on Safety and Security’, attended by residents of Tropicana, representatives from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department, as well as members of the Tropicana Residents Association, at the Tropicana Golf and Country Resort Club. Ramanan’s speech was read out by his special officer Vignesvaran Gunasagaran.

Ramanan emphasized the need for a fire station in Kota Damansara, noting that the nearest one currently serving the area is in SS2, which could delay emergency response times. He pointed out that the distance to the nearest fire station significantly impacts response times, which can be crucial in emergencies. He stressed the urgency of having a dedicated fire station closer to the community to ensure quicker emergency responses.

Ramanan added that the MADANI Government remains committed to prioritising safety and emergency preparedness in national development initiatives. He stated that they are committed to ensuring that fire stations, police stations, and emergency services are strategically located to serve communities efficiently. Additionally, he mentioned advocating for stricter building regulations to ensure that all new developments incorporate proper fire safety measures and unobstructed emergency routes.
