Peringat: Premium nasi lemak, cakes, and puddings, typically sold at higher prices, are attracting crowds at the Ramadan Bazaar in Peringat, where these delicacies are priced from as little as RM1.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the initiative is spearheaded by 46-year-old Nazrulaman Mohamed, who offers his nasi lemak at RM1 and cakes and puddings at RM1.50 throughout Ramadan. This effort allows villagers to enjoy quality food at affordable prices during the holy month.
Nazrulaman explained that the move is part of his intention to give charity and seek blessings. "Previously, my cakes and puddings were sold from RM5 upwards, while the nasi lemak's price remains the same," he shared.
The businessman has opted for smaller portions at lower prices this year, aiming to make normally expensive bakery items accessible to those with limited means. "The response has been overwhelming, with all items selling out daily," he noted.
Each day, Nazrulaman prepares between 70 and 100 packets of nasi lemak, alongside 200 to 300 containers of cakes and puddings in various flavors. His stall opens as early as 3.30 pm, with most items typically sold out by 7 pm, demonstrating strong community support for his low-price concept.
