Kuala lumpur: The rally at Dataran Merdeka today concluded peacefully without any untoward incident, with approximately 18,000 individuals in attendance. Acting Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Mohamed Usuf Jan Mohamad expressed gratitude for the cooperation shown by participants, who maintained order throughout the event.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohamed Usuf highlighted that the rally proceeded smoothly, despite some initial disagreements that were resolved amicably. He emphasized the need for organizers to be more transparent in sharing information with authorities to facilitate security and logistical arrangements in future events. A total of 3,000 police officers and personnel were deployed to ensure safety during the rally.

Mohamed Usuf also mentioned that the police would review speeches made by several leaders at the rally to identify any elements related to religion, race, royalty, or seditious content. While reiterating the right to peaceful assembly, he stressed adherence to existing laws and indicated that legal action would be taken if any violations were found. Over 60 reports were filed concerning the rally, mostly by individuals opposing its organization.

An internal review will be conducted to evaluate aspects of the rally that could be improved, Mohamed Usuf added.
