Kuala Lumpur: A new Instagram account using the name ‘Raja zarith sophia’ and featuring the profile picture of Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, the Queen of Malaysia, has been identified as a fake account.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the confirmation came through a post shared on His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia’s official Facebook page. The post also included a screenshot of the fraudulent Instagram account.
The post stated, “This account is a fake account of a user impersonating and using the identity of Her Majesty the Queen.” It further highlighted that impersonation and identity theft are criminal offences, and warned that appropriate legal action will be taken in accordance with applicable laws.
