Kangar: A truly independent people are those who are able to think maturely and act ethically and use their freedom responsibly, said the Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail. In this regard, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin called on the people of Perlis, especially the younger generation, to continue to seek knowledge, master new skills and build their identity as well as preserve the religious and cultural values that are their heritage.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin emphasized that knowledge without morality will not produce perfect individuals, while progress without integrity will not guarantee lasting prosperity. His Majesty encouraged the citizens to become a generation that is knowledgeable, skilled, moral, and has integrity, ready to contribute to the progress of Perlis and Malaysia. This message was delivered during the state-level 69th National Day celebration at the Tuanku Syed Putra Sports Complex.
Present at the event was the Raja Perempuan of Perlis Tuanku Tengku Fauziah Almarhum Tengku Abdul Rashid, alongside the Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil. The Raja of Perlis also urged the residents to adhere to the Rukun Negara and uphold the Constitution as a guideline in community life.
Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin expressed his appreciation for the loyalty, respect, and love from the people, which have been crucial in preserving the harmony of the state. He stressed that unity is the strength of a nation, leading to peace, stability, progress, and prosperity. His Majesty wished for continued peace, prosperity, stability, and sovereignty for the country and state, as well as good health, abundant sustenance, and complete unity for the people of Perlis.
