Arau: The Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail received a courtesy visit from the Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia, Danielle Heinecke, at Istana Arau last night. The meeting also saw the presence of the Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and Raja Puan Muda of Perlis Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil. Additionally, Perlis Menteri Besar Abu Bakar Hamzah and state secretary Datuk Rahimi Ismail were in attendance.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, after the formal audience in the Blue Room, the High Commissioner joined the royal family for a dinner. Earlier in the day, Danielle Heinecke participated in the MAIPs Peduli Cycling event, which was led by the Raja Muda of Perlis around Kampung Warna Warni in Kuala Perlis.
Speaking to reporters prior to the audience, Heinecke remarked that this visit was her first to Perlis and provided her with the opportunity to learn about the state's investment potential, especially in industrial development. She highlighted her interest in the Perlis Inland Port (PIP) and the broader investment plans of the state, expressing her intention to share these opportunities with Australian companies.
"Hopefully, we can encourage some Australian companies to explore the opportunities here in Perlis. It's great to see what the government is doing to attract investment, and we'll do our part by sharing this information with interested companies," she stated.
