Kangar: The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, has expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the late Mohamad Asri Shafii, Astro Awani’s Perlis correspondent.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin remarked that Mohamad Asri’s passing has left a significant impact not only on his family and colleagues but also on the community familiar with his dedication to journalism. The Raja Muda also conveyed prayers for the deceased, hoping he is placed among the righteous and that his family finds the strength to face this challenging time.

Mohamad Asri, aged 49, passed away early this morning, believed to be due to a heart attack, while on his way home after covering flood evacuation operations in Hat Yai. Kangar police chief ACP Yusharifuddin Mohd Yusop reported that Mohamad Asri was found unconscious by the roadside along Jalan Behor Pulai at 7.20 am today. He allegedly attempted to push his car, which had become stuck in floodwaters.

Before joining Astro Awani, Mohamad Asri served as a journalist with Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM).
