Samarkand:The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, has highlighted the importance of Prophet Muhammad's sunnah in guiding individuals through the complexities and uncertainties of today's world.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra remarked that the prophetic legacy provides practical principles for fostering a peaceful, just, and prosperous society. He noted that current global challenges, such as humanitarian conflicts, economic pressures, rapid social change, and technological advancements, call for revisiting the methods demonstrated by Prophet Muhammad.
These comments were made during the opening of the 10th International Prophetic Heritage Seminar (SWAN X) 2026 at the Imam Bukhari International Scientific Research Centre in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The event was attended by the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil and their daughter, Hajah Sharifah Farah Adriana Jamalullail. The royal family was welcomed by Samarkand Region Governor Adiz Boboev, and Malaysia's Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Rafedah Abdul Aziz, was also present.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra emphasized the shared responsibility of bringing the current generation closer to Prophet Muhammad's teachings for guidance in facing present challenges. The seminar, organized by Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia's Faculty of Quran and Sunnah Studies, in collaboration with UniSIRAJ, MAIPs and other partners, brought together international scholars to explore solutions to contemporary issues using Islamic traditions.
The conference, under the theme 'Prophetic Heritage in Leading Through an Era of Global Instability,' focused on applying the teachings of Prophet Muhammad as a framework for addressing modern geopolitical, social, and economic challenges. Selected research papers from the seminar will be published in reputable journals, bridging the gap between traditional Islamic scholarship and contemporary academic standards.
