Raja Muda of Perlis Advocates for Ethical Conduct Among Mosque Officials

Kangar: The Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, today emphasized the importance of good manners and ethics among mosque officials and committee members in their administrative duties and community interactions.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin highlighted that trustworthiness, sincerity, courtesy, and mutual respect are crucial for maintaining the integrity and reputation of mosques and surau. He urged mosque officials to avoid conflicts that could harm the institutions’ standing.

The Raja Muda called upon the 101 mosques and 209 surau in the state, including the four main mosques-Masjid Negeri Arau, Masjid Alwi Kangar, Masjid Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail Kangar, and Masjid Al-Hussain Kuala Perlis-to serve as exemplary centers of worship, education, unity, and welfare. He encouraged these religious sites to radiate knowledge, morals, and unity within the community.

Tuanku Syed Faizuddin also urged mosque management to explore innovative approaches beyond traditional practices, aiming to enhance the value of their services. He suggested the establishment of food banks or community kitchens for aiding the asnaf, as well as agro-community projects like small farms or hydroponic cultivation to provide food sources and additional funds.

In terms of environmental initiatives, the Raja Muda advocated for efforts to conserve electricity and water, and the adoption of green energy solutions such as solar panel installations, which could significantly lower operational costs for mosques.

In a separate statement from Istana Arau, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin urged the community to avoid bullying and promote a culture of respect and empathy. He emphasized offering encouragement to individuals rather than mocking their weaknesses, to foster self-confidence.

He expressed hope that the 65th Malaysian Schools Sports Council (MSSM) Athletics Championships would not only be a competitive event but also a platform for strengthening relationships, fostering sportsmanship, and developing new talents for the glory of their states and Malaysia.
