Rahmah Sales Programme to Expand into Flood-Prone Areas Nationwide.

PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has announced plans to extend the Rahmah Sales programme to include flood-prone areas across the country. Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali emphasized that this initiative is intended to ensure that individuals affected by floods have access to essential goods at reasonable prices.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Minister stated that selected district retailers and wholesalers in areas at risk of flooding have been appointed to guarantee a sufficient supply of goods is readily available to the public. Additionally, KPDN officers are actively monitoring the prices of 480 different items daily to address the dynamics of supply and demand.

The announcement was made during a press conference held after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Education and the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) at MyIPO Tower, PJ Sentral. The MoU seeks to create a special module on intellectual proper
ty for educators and students, incorporating it as a Cross-Curriculum Element (EMK) in the current educational curriculum.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has projected that the monsoon season will persist until March of next year, potentially bringing between five to seven episodes of heavy rainfall.
