Kota bharu: Pandan member of Parliament Rafizi Ramli has been given until tomorrow to explain his intentions regarding contesting in the 16th General Election (GE16) without using a People's Justice Party (PKR) ticket. PKR secretary-general Fuziah Salleh announced that the party had issued a show-cause letter to Rafizi on February 23, allowing him five days to respond.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fuziah stated that Rafizi's remarks about potentially contesting GE16 without a PKR ticket could lead to perceptions of his departure from the party. The show-cause letter is intended to provide Rafizi with the chance to clarify his position. Fuziah emphasized the importance of adhering to the party's constitution and avoiding arbitrary actions.
PKR is keen on avoiding any hasty decisions regarding Rafizi's situation without first considering his explanation. A Central Leadership Council meeting is scheduled for March 1, where Rafizi's matter will be discussed further. Rafizi confirmed yesterday that he had received the show-cause letter from PKR, which was issued due to his alleged declaration of exiting the party.
