Kuala Lumpur: Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli has resumed his official duties today after reportedly taking an extended leave. The matter was confirmed by PKR vice-president, who is also Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Chang stated, “This morning, I was with the Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim), Rafizi, and Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz in a meeting with Japan’s former Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at the Prime Minister’s Office. So yes, it is confirmed that he (Rafizi) is back at work,” he told reporters after launching the third season of the INNOVATHON programme here today.
Previously, media reports alleging that Rafizi had taken an extended leave sparked widespread discussion among grassroots party members, especially with the PKR 2025 internal elections currently underway nationwide. Last Friday, Anwar was reported as saying that Rafizi’s leave should not be turned into an issue, clarifying that the Pandan MP had only taken a few days off, not until the end of the month as claimed by some media outlets.
