PUTRAJAYA: Putrajaya Festival of Ideas 2024 to be held at Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) here from Nov 27 to 29 is aimed at empowering higher education and strengthening Malaysia’s image as a centre of excellence for intellectual discourse and innovation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir stated that the festival will bring together experts, policy makers, academicians, and the general community on a prestigious platform to discuss innovative ideas and solutions to the current challenges facing the country and the world. The festival is organized to revive cultural excellence and foster a community that values knowledge.
The minister emphasized that the festival will serve as a platform to share Malaysia’s success with the global community through “The Malaysian Success Story,” and aims to elevate Putrajaya as a “City of Ideas.” The text of Zambry’s speech was delivered by the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) secretary-general Da
tuk Seri Dr Zaini Ujang during a roadshow for the festival.
Zambry noted that the event will promote innovation and creative solutions to address global challenges such as economic inequality, sustainable development, and climate change. He highlighted the importance of mobilizing significant changes in alignment with Malaysia’s role as a leader in achieving global prosperity.
The festival is envisioned as a catalyst for innovation, impacting not only Malaysia but also on a global scale. It is expected to be the starting point for an annual event that will bolster Malaysia’s reputation as a knowledge and innovation-driven nation, aligning with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI and the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP).
