Putra Heights Fire: Kdebwm Provides RORO Bins Until Recovery Process Completes

Putra Heights: KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) is providing complimentary RORO (roll-on/roll-off) bins in every lane and area affected by the gas pipeline explosion on April 1 in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya until the clean-up and repair works are fully completed. Its managing director, Datuk Ramli Mohd Tahir, said the company is committed to easing the burden of residents impacted by the incident, particularly in helping offset the cost of recovery that affected residents have to bear.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, clean-up activities are still ongoing under KDEBWM’s supervision based on the waste generated by residents, especially those who are still making repairs to their homes. In Taman Putra Harmoni, 12 RORO bins have been placed, while 10 more are located in Kampung Kuala Sungai Baru, as stated by Ramli during a recent handover ceremony of the first batch of Fuso trucks.

Ramli reported that more than 1,000 tonnes of solid waste have been collected in the affected areas. The April 1 blaze destroyed 81 houses, with structural damage exceeding 40 percent, and partially damaged another 81. Additionally, 57 homes were affected but did not catch fire, while 218 houses, including those in Kampung Tengah, Puchong, were not affected.
