Putra Heights Fire: 18 Victims Still Treated At Health Facilities

Subang Jaya: A total of 18 victims of the gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya are still being treated in health facilities as of today, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad. He stated that 132 victims who sought treatment at government and private hospitals have been discharged as of noon today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad expressed relief that there have been no fatalities and that no individuals are currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He made these remarks during the launch of the Southeast Asian Healthcare and Pharmaceutical Conference (SEACare 2025).

The disaster, which occurred on April 1, saw a total of 150 injured victims seeking medical attention at various hospitals. The fire, which broke out at 8:10 am, involved a gas pipeline owned by Petronas. Flames soared over 30 meters high, with temperatures reaching up to 1,000 degrees Celsius, and it took nearly eight hours to fully extinguish.

The blaze resulted in significant destruction, with 81 houses experiencing structural damage exceeding 40 percent. Additionally, another 81 houses were partially damaged, and 57 homes were affected but burned. However, 218 houses were reported as unaffected by the fire.
