Putra Heights Explosion Investigation Report Submitted to Federal Government

Subang jaya: The Selangor State Government has submitted the investigation report on the gas pipeline explosion incident in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, obtained from the Independent Committee to the federal government last month. Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the move was made after the committee presented the results of the report to the state government.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Amirudin mentioned that he submitted the report to the federal government and is now waiting for feedback. He stated that once feedback is received, the report will be made public. This announcement was made during a press conference after the Siswa Kita Selangor South Zone Roadshow at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

Amirudin was responding to queries regarding the progress of the Independent Committee's investigation report. He noted that the report serves as a study to prevent similar incidents in the future and to determine necessary follow-up actions.

The Independent Committee consisted of eight individuals, chaired by Dr. Khamarrul Azahari Razak, a senior research fellow at the Disaster Prevention and Preparedness Centre of the Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology, UTM. The committee was approved by the State Executive Council and included professionals with expertise in fields such as slopes, hills, oil, and gas.

The panel reviewed and assessed technical reports previously issued by the police, fire brigade, and the Department of Occupational Safety and Health. The explosion that occurred on April 1 last year affected approximately 1,254 people from 308 families, destroying 87 houses and damaging 148 others.
